Another Product from Dymatize Nutriton spin off Pursuir-Rx, the All Natural 100% Whey Protein Powder. Currently it is available in two flavors and only a 2lb tub. No doubt this is due to them testing it out on the users. All natural ingredient profile is one of the newer ways of trying to make bodybuilding and sports supplements healthier for consumers.
New Pursuit-Rx Whey Protein is an ideal product for your needs. Formulated to be all-natural, Pursuit Rx Whey Protein is fast absorbing and utilizes natural flavors and sweeteners, for great tasting products you’ll enjoy using daily. This whey protein also differences from the rest by what you wont find in the blend, such as:
>No Hormones (rBGH/rBST)
>No GMO Ingredients
>No GMO Ingredients
>No Artificial Flavors, Colors or Sweeteners
>No Added Sugars
If you are picky about your protein powder blends you will be pleased with the non additives listed above. One of the thing I liked is that it’s a pretty lean protein powder, with 25g of protein and only 130 calories per serving, 20 calories come from the 2g of fat contained in the blend. Well without going to much about the ingredients, lets get to the review after I finished my sample of Rich Chocolate flavor.
Like I mentioned above I tried the new rich chocolate, and as you can expect it taste like chocolate, I would not go as far to say rich chocolate but you can taste it, even with the natural flavoring(Stevia). I have had better but also had way worse tasting lean protein powders.
I used two scoops to test out the mixabilty. First with water then milk, with 8oz of liquid you get a smooth creamy shake, no clumping or any issues with the mixing. I wouldn’t recommend adding much more then 8oz of liquid or it just becomes too runny.
Rating a protein powder on effectiveness isn’t easy. If you drink protein shakes but don’t work hard in the gym then you won’t see results. It’s not a magic supplement but it will definitely assist recovery if used properly and consistently. This protein will keep you fed, I took it before and after the gym. I am trying to lean up so my diet and workout routine are lower calorie but intense training sessions. It does what it’s supposed to do I believe, there is enough protein in each serving to help achieve your overall daily intake. Taken first thing in the morning, in between meals, or doubled up as your post work out shake.
At 20$ a pound I feel this maybe a little high for a protein powder, even if they are focusing on the healthy angle. It’s good enough to get about 10-15$ a pound in my opinion, possibly after a few months it will go down in price or get more value with bigger serving tubs.
I would recommend giving it a try if you are looking for a more natural ingredient profile or maybe have a gluten issue or something along those lines. It is not one of those must have protein, and it’s pricey. I liked it and will wait to see if there is a bigger tub before I purchase again, I need to get a full months worth in order to consider it a good value. So overall good but don’t brake the bank if you can find a cheaper deal on similar product.
