Dymatize Nutrition Elite Whey Protein Review

(Last Updated On: 02/20/2014)

Elite Whey Protein Isolate is the perfect blend of whey protein concentrates, ion-exchange whey protein isolates, and whey peptides. Elite has no added sugar, fructose, salt, or carbohydrates. And Elite now contains a proprietary digestive enzyme blend including Zytrix to help amplify absorption, and to make Elite even more agreeable to lactose intolerant individuals. Made with 100% whey protein, there’s zero sugar, fructose, salt, or carbohydrates added in. Just a power-packed 24 grams of protein per serving with the great taste you expect from DYMATIZE, available in 3 sizes with 3 all-natural flavors and 9 other flavors.

Taste
I had the Chocolate flavor and I am not a huge chocolate fan and prefer to get my proteins in Vanilla but Dymatize hit the nail on the head with the flavor. The flavor was not over powerful and even when mixed one scoop to 12 or 14fl. oz. of milk/water, the taste was still there.

Mixability

This can be a little difficult to mix all the way sometimes. I noticed that if I do not use the blender ball in my shaker cup, it will be a little clumpy. Just some minor issues with mixing, nothing serious and nothing more shaking can’t handle.

Effectiveness
This is a simple protein, similar to the 100% Gold Standard version, with 24g of protein per scoop but added vitamins. It will build muscle as long as you put in the effort and diet. Like any protein it does require toilet breaks now and again if taken too much. It is underrated, but it works, and also has a good BCAA profile. Its a great source of protein which is essential to your diet. Each serving also contains 5g of BCAA’s and 4g of Glutamine. Thus I think it serves well for a post workout supplement and you can even sip on it during a workout IMO.

Price
The list price for a 5lb tub ranges from 40-52 dollars depending where you purchase it. You get roughly 73 servings in a five pound tub which can add up over time.

Overall
If you can afford to stick with Gold Standard, just do it, but if your one a budget like me, $20 differences in these two are huge. Amino profile is good, low carb, low fat, 24g of protein. I don’t really use this for meal replacement, just mainly for after workouts, and while I’m at work on break or lunch. I drink this with breakfast every day with my oatmeal and it goes great.
