Whey Protein Powder by Mutant is one of their latest product to be released in the past few weeks. Mutant Whey is a 5-Stage Whey Protein that boosts muscle growth and increases nitrogen retention. It is a Proprietary blend of proteins that all use their individual uptake time, making sure 100% of the protein is absorbed into your body for best results.
It is a fairly low calorie protein powder with 150 calories per serving of 37 grams, 30 calories are derived from fat, and it contains 2 grams of sugar and 3.5 grams of fat. It has 7 grams of carbs per serving and on the label it states 25grams of protein. Now where you got to really make sure you read is, it shows the serving size at one scoop, but in the directions it says to use 2 or even three scoops with about 16 ounces of liquid.
Other then the quality protein powders blend, Whey protein by Mutant contains Glutamine and BCAAs, meaning not only are you looking at muscle gains from protein, this stuff will help you recover faster as well. It also has a deprivation complex in the mix, made up of whole food fibers to speed up amino acid intake and boosts utilization of protein for better gains.
Whey Protein powder from Mutant can be purchased in three flavors(Vanilla, Chocolate and Strawberry). It is currently only available in one 5lb bag, not sure if they will change up the sizes as the supplement performs.
I tried the “Triple Chocolate Eruption”, and as expected it tastes great, well because most chocolate protein powders will taste good. This has a smooth texture when blended and you can really taste the chocolate flavor. I would say it’s one of the better tasting proteins I have tried.
If you are using 2 scoops as I did, I would recommend using 18 ounces of liquid, if you are looking for a completely smooth, easy to slam down texture. With less liquid it gets a little thick, almost pasty. Overall there was no clumps or anything like that.
Well I am currently still taking whey protein, and so far I have been very pleased with the fullness you get from just one shake. I noticed I wouldn’t get hungry until dinner time, it would keep me energized, I don’t feel weak through the day because I didn’t eat a meal yet. I think where it really shined so far is the recovery, I mean the next day I would feel great, just pop out of bed and I am ready for my day. I did notice some fullness in my muscles, and I am trying to gain lean muscle at the moment so I would say I put on 3-4 pounds in about 3 weeks, which isn’t bad, I think Mutant whey does the job.
Well all I can say It’s under 50$ for 5lbs, for me that’s a deal, especially for the quality of the product. It will depend on how many scoops you take, to really judge the value. At 2 scoops per serving, you get a month supply.
I think Mutant got themselves a good whey protein here, it tastes great, keeps you full and with proper training this will get you the gains you are looking for. If anybody wants to know my final results with the product, just add the comment below and I will fill you in when I am done with the first months supply. So far I would recommend it to anybody really, it will do what a protein powder is supposed to.
